Hike up Le Saleve

Last Sunday was a beautiful day in Geneva, so my friend from Italy, this one is from Milan, Chiara and I went on a adventure. We can see Le Saleve out our bedroom windows everday...and so I checked online and there is a hiking club who climb this every Sunday. Thankfully Chiara wanted to join me for this hike, and that is was a gorgeous day outside! So we started to climb, having no idea how long it would take, but there were about 50 other hikers and a guide to show us the way.

We hiked for about 2 or 2 1/2 hours before we came to the top. We were able to see Mont Blanc and some other snowed-capped peaks. At the top we sat and ate lunch. And of course we were able to meet people from all around the world: Finland, Belgium, Germany, and a couple other Italians. It was such a beautiful view for a picnic, and the perfect weather outside.
After lunch, we had to walk another 1 1/2 hours across the top of the mountain in order to take the cable car down to the bottom. After 4 hours of a great hike, the view at the top was absolutely heavenly, and we decided to enjoy it for a while.

On a more serious note...please pray for my friend that I met here, Lisa. She is a wonderful person and has just entered into the Salesian Sisters, so she left for Milan to study to become a nun. She is taking a huge step in faith because her background is in medicine and she is a great surgeon, and the Salesians are typically educators. But God has great plans for her and she is following the call in her life to give all of herself to Him.
